WET TESTING AT MALLORY

A very wet morning, which almost flooded the track. The first session was damp with Mike running low 57 second laps, but the second and third sessions were conducted in a downpoor.
Mike was there to test that his new tank and pump were working well, and that proved to be a success as Mike managed 15 laps and used about 6 litres of fuel without any fuel starvation. Unfortunately without any anti-mist spray with us, and the track shop closed, Mike just managed 6 laps in session 2 and then a further 4 laps in session 3 before we packed up. The fastest in the wet were numbers 1,2,4 and 6, while Mike was able to keep on the pace of the remainder of drivers, and supprisingly quicker than most. Anglesey was his only prvious outing in the wet with the car, so to be just 10% slower than his dry time and just a second off the pace of the front four while unable to see much, was very encouraging for the Sunday round. Above is a print out of the second session showing his optimim lap of 1.04 managing to keep the revs in a band between 3500 and 6500.
Any supporters planning to join us will be most welcome, but please come prepared for wet and cold conditions. Practice starts at 9am on 2nd August, and Mallory park is just off the A47 from leicester before Earl Shilton.
